Megavalanche Alpe d’Huez is the most iconic and not-to-be missed ENDURO MASS-START race in the World !
Since 1995, each year, thousands of rider from all over the world gather in Alpe d’Huez, France, to be part of an unique adventure : The Megavalanche MTB race ! Its Mass Start at 3330 meters high on the “Pic Blanc” glacier and its finish line in Allemond, 2600 meters further down, makes this ENDURO MASS-START race the longest and craziest downhill race in the world !
Come and enjoy amazing holidays, from 3 to 9 days on site, for an epic stay in the french alps, full of unlimited riding, lots of crazy pre-race events, free drinks and live music and the best for last with the race friday and saturday/or sunday.
In addition to this race will be held the MEGA KID, especially for children. Electric Bike riders will also be pleased with a dedicated start and ranking! Women are of course also more than welcome with a specific track recognition and race.

If you’re riding as Aaron Gwin, this race is made for you !
No chain, no pedalling. No pedalling, no speeding up. No speeding up…, no braking ! No braking : winning is yours !
See you thursday at the DMC 2100m from 2pm to 4pm, without your chain, for a crazy funny race on the Run DMC track. 5 trials possibles, we keep the best time !
5 fastest riders will be awarded + the 3 fastest kids (7-14 years old) !

Dual Slalom
High level and crazy atmosphere on this first race of the week ! The rule is simple : two short and parallel tracks, two riders at the start, first down to the bottom takes the win !
Free trials wednesday afternoon, seeding runs from 4 to 5pm, and Dual Slalom race for the 32 best times froms 5pm to 6:30pm

The new venue of the Megavalanche week : a 100% fun street race that is already a not-to be missed event, whether you are rider of spectator !
Start at 6pm from the expo-village for the 30 registered riders for this intense 30mn of loop-racing !
Main objective : doing as many laps as possible in 30mn for the most athletic riders, or putting on the best show for the others !
The three fastest riders, as well as the funniest outfit and the worst bike will be awarded !

You don’t have a bike?
Come and enjoy this unique 100% downhill trail running race ! Leaving after the bikes on sunday on the exact same track (so yes, from the Pic Blanc and its glacier!) you will enjoy 22km of amazing single tracks in a breath-taking landscape, but be careful : 2600m of elevation drop are between you and the finish line of this Megavalanche®Trail !

How to fly to Alpe d’Huez ?
The nearest airport is Grenoble, but the biggest nearest airport is Geneva in switzerland. We do not organize specific shuttle from any airports, the easiest is to rent a car there
Where should i stay / book my accomodation?
In the resort, next to the expo village : Alpe d’Huez
In the valley, next to the finish line and the lift : Allemond
Where can i park my campervan / set up my tent?
We strongly recommend you to book a spot in one of Allemond camping (down in the valley, next to the finish line, linked to the resort by a new gondola)
There is no official camping site in Alpe d’Huez but a specific area is exceptionnaly authorized for the duration of the Mega Week on the “Rif Nel parking lot” if you want to park your van there for free. There will be chemical toilets at your disposal but no shower nor electricity access.
Rules
What happens to me if I do not “qualified”?
Everybody gets qualified for the race after the seeding runs, you will all race from the glacier, whether saturday OR sunday, in the level group in which you’ve been qualified friday
MEGAVALANCHE group (sunday) : the 350 bests riders (from 1st to 35th of each qualification wave)
CHALLENGERS group (saturday) : from 36th to 70th of each qualification wave
AMATEURS group (sunday) : from 71st to 94th of each qualification wave
AFFINITY group (saturday, individual start) : from the 95th to 130th of each qualification wave
Ladies and e-bikes have their specific start saturday morning
